I don't know who the dude is on the left... Perhaps he's actually a real elf. But to see you people you DO know magically morphed, check out the following websites:
I don't know why I look so sultry. The other Dave made me this way.
And here is another one:

Cube Chronicles.XMASEVE

Behind this wall sits the most obnoxius, bigmouthed cube neighbor imagineable. It is Xmas Eve and because I am the lowest freak on the totem pole, I am stuck here trying to look busy. No one should be at work today, but here I sit bored out of my mind with my ears in pain as I suffer through the loud, brassy chatter of the woman who parks herself behind my pink wall everyday.

UGH. Happy freaking holidays.

P.S. Consider yourself lucky that the audio I tried to capture of her won't upload on my crappy Dell.

Thanks JENN!!!

Oscar and Lucy wanted me to post this to show how much they enjoyed the presents that Aunt Jenn sent them for Hanukkah. You rock, J-Lows.

Giving Tree

Thanks so much to all of you who donated to the families we sponsored for Christmas. I had signed up to help a total of 8 kids from 5 families, so all of us, together with my swim team and some folks from work, came together to give these families a much, much happier holiday. Last night, the kids from my video project helped wrap over 50 gifts and articles of warm winter clothing, which we dropped off at Children's Hospital for the FACES program this morning. We also donated 5 boxes full of shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, and more to Project Open Hand!

Scott and I were a shopping force to be reckoned with last night (watch out, Scott is now obsessed with clothes for small children) and Julie headed up the drop-off efforts this morning. You guys rock! I am proud to have such generous and thoughtful friends.

Sour Bananas

So, I lost the Great Bakery Throw Down at the Ohio Department of Health. I am so bitter because I was beat out by a banana pudding that looked very much like the one pictured here, but it was in an aluminum foil pan and there were more cookies on top.

It wasn't even homemade.

I am sour over this.

Someday I am going to work in an environment where my creativity is fully appreciated. I feel like a Mac working in an office full of PC's.

By the way, this was my finished product.

Dark Horse

No Crying Nor Pouting

Somebody's niece is an absolute Christmas carol *machine*
this time of year. It's lovely. The video is kind of dark,
but the audio is all you really need.

Lots of holidays love from us to you!

(This just might be the best 60 seconds you have all day.)

Things to catch you up on.....

I feel like a lot has been going on lately. I've been a little busy but enjoying life.....
For thanksgiving we rented a cute little cabin in Vermont. It was warm and cuddly and had a wood stove. I loved the challenge of keeping the fire going, hearing the wood crackle, and watching the sparks fly when I poked the fire with my stick.
Inspired by the fine southern cuisine I experienced while in Atlanta, I made a southern breakfast of creamy grits, scrambled eggs, and soysage. Delicious.
The kitties loved the cabin and spent most of their time on the beams up high. They would look down at us as we read books, watched episodes of Weeds Season 1, or kissed in front of the fire. Super cute.
On Saturday after Thanksgiving we went to try to ski. It was my fifth time maybe, and Scotty's first time. He was courageous and went flying down the mountain within an hour. My favorite memory was riding the ski lift together and looking down on the beautiful mountain.
Before Vermont I ran the marathon in November and had a blast. NYC is incredible on marathon sunday. Over two million people lined up for 26 miles and it feels like you are a super star and they are all cheering for you. It is one of the best feelings in the world. I love running through all the different neighborhoods and experiencing all the different "new yorks" that make this city so unique.

Other than that, Scotty's been super cute and is doing lots of baking now that school is out for just a little bit. He made organic hazelnut crusted truffles for my holiday party at work and they were amazing. He heads to India in 2 weeks and will have lots of adventures to share when he gets back. He will be extracting lots of teeth and working with kids that haven't been to the dentist before. I am proud of him and excited that he gets to spread some of his warmth and cheer.

Miss all of you! Truly.

Paths connecting.....

I love it when paths randomly connect. I had the immense pleasure of sharing some time with the Joyce we all know and love at my favorite lunch place in the East Village this past week. We shared some delicious chili and corn bread and some laughs and smiles too. Sorry getting home was quite the journey and hope you won't stay away too long now. I am really proud of you and your amazing accomplishment.

Kennel Cough!

Oscar went to the vet this morning. He has kennel cough. The poor thing coughs most of the night and anytime he moves around too much (he LOVES chasing a ball) but he's got good drugs for that now. He also needs to put on some pounds. But, overall, he is a healthy boy. Yahoo! He did not fuss at all during the exam either.

As you can see from the pic, Daddy G had to put an old sheet on the couch to protect it from Oscar's snotty little kennel cough nose.

He follows us everywhere we go and prefers to sit up against you or on your lap.

He's pretty adorable and sweet... and although he has some resemblances to our dear Simon, he so far has none of his skittish tendencies. He was a stray and is incredibly, saddly skinny. Lucy has shown him the same kidness she has showed other dogs (i.e. she mostly ignores him and occassionly gets in his business). We can't wait till y'all can meet him. It's pretty FREAKY! There are a couple other pictures of him Flickr.

Sweet Cherry Pie

We, unfortunately, missed this little diddy but I had to post the advertisement and a pic. I'm looking forward to next year though. I wonder, will I eat or be eaten? Both sound titillating.

Another Fun One

And when it's cold and snowy, this right here is one thing I really love to do.

A Fun Thing To Do In Gray Weather

Whenver it's a gray day in Columbus, Julie and I like to take a ride in the Beaver balloon. Here's a picture from one of our trips.

Coldlumbus (or the Chad and Griff anti Hotlanta Day)

We had a cold and rainy Sunday in Columbus and in typical Liv and Julie fashion we took the opportunity not to enjoy the Sabbath, but rather to attack another room in our house with fiendish fervor.

You'll have to wait for the Tour of Homes to get the full effect, but for now, check out this beautiful corner of the room!

They Don't Call it Hotlanta for Nothing!

That's right! It was 75 and beautiful in Atlanta today. Actually it was nice all weekend. Chad, Lucy, and I made the best of it.

Yesterday, we hiked along the Chattahoochee River, which is just north of the city.

Today we went to Piedmont Park's doggie area, which is huge. Lucy, the old girl, liked sniffing butts and pee spots, but generally preferred to hang with her daddies rather than play with the 50-60 dogs frolicking about park. Overly dependent? Maybe a little. Cute? Definitely!

Actually, I shouldn't be talking smack about Doodie. Chad and I weren't much better. We had one brief interaction the entire time, even though there were dozens of dog people surrounding us. A gay boy couple with their own anti-social dog sat about 10 feet from us and we had a brief conversation about our dogs' ages. To be honest, the first thing that went through my head when they sat down, in a bitchy tone nonetheless, was "Do you really need to sit that close when there is all that open space to park your asses?" It was my territorial growl, if you will.

Despite our family's lack of social skills, we had a great time at the park.

After the doggie park, we went to an outdoor farmer's market close to our house. It's a sprawling industrial parking lot-like area with 60-80 covered loading docks where local farmers/growers sell there produce and other goods. We bought two big bags of fruits and veggies at the different vendors, which in total was only $14. Nice.

Atlanta is real nice....

Having a fabulicious time with G & C and wish you all were here. Let me tell you, Chad's rendition of Cabaret at Mary's (the super cool gay bar) was worth the trip alone. That boy can sing (and shake)! Here are my pics from the botanical gardens. Well, and Lucy too.

Yeah, I'm cute. Get over it.

Let me hear your body talk . . . .

Aaron was gettin' so physical last night that we went all blurry on us.

Great Jbros show last night. I missed "Toxic," but I heard it was TOX-IC. Everybody's talkin' bout it on the internets.

Get on getting on. Mmph.

I carved a little pumpkin and Lucy met Gary, albeit from a distance (see the photo on flickr of Lucy inside checking out Gary outside).
